What was it made for?

This was created during my first year of University for a module called Introduction to 3D Modelling, where I was tasked with creating a list of items in 3DS Max. These included a bottle, clock, log cabin, weapon and vehicle. I was only able to use a certain amount of polygons for each item. The clock item had a maximum amount of 2000 polygons (+/- 10%) I could use.

Inspiration and Research

I used the game Dead Rising 4 as inspiration for this model. I looked at loads of your typical weapons, guns, swords, spears, crossbows etc. Wanting to do something more, different, I decided to look elsewhere for inspiration, that's when I remembered about the Dead Rising franchise. Weapons on this game are known for being makeshift; multiple different objects just put together to make some really wacky weapons. The weapon I created consisted of a machete and a kitchen knife, strapped to a modified bucket. It is designed to fit around the users wrist, they can grip onto the bucket handle. This way it can be used to stab and slash.
